World Champion
Who says dreams can't come true?
My nephew @xantheon_strength is pretty big into fitness and training. And if he's not in college or at work, you will probably find him down at the gym. He got into powerlifting and loved the challenge it gave him, always pushing yourself that little bit more.
A few months ago I was talking to him on the phone and he was telling me how he was thinking of entering this powerlifting competition, just give it a go type of thing. I was like, of course, go for it, give it a go, but didn't really think much more into it. I don't think either of us did.
A few days after the competition I called him up to find out how it went. There was silence on the other end. After what seemed like a minute, he goes 'I came first'. Oh wow! He gave me another long silent pause. 'I qualified for the British championships'. I was starting to dance down the street. 'I also qualified for the European championships'. Holy moly I was ready to start a street party I was that excited!!! Fast forward May he became British champion in his category and qualified for Worlds. Enter June and off he goes to France where he becomes European champion in his category!
Now this week I put all my work to one side to do Worlds with him. It was amazing!
And he won.
Not just his category, but also best male teen lifter across all the weight categories!
